The term “double wide” has long been the term applied to a type of manufactured housing that was made up of two standard mobile homes-thus a home that was twice as large (wide) as a conventional trailer.
In perusing recent searches in our Google Adwords account, I came across another use for this term-something that I probably should have been aware of long ago.
People searching for gaffers tape that was wider than the standard two inch width were searching for “double wide” gaffers tape.
